BordersBorderlessCollectiveBordersBorderless Collective emerged from a common political interest among five Fine Art students at Chelsea UAL in 2015.&nbsp;The group found the on-going global crisis alarming and felt compelled to take action. Through a collective practice we created a series of exhibtions over the course of 3 years, with the aim to generate critical discussions on borders, warfare, and displacement between artists and refugees as well as civil and governmental organisations.&nbsp; The exhibition “A Global War but not A Global Citizen? – Case study of the Syrian refugee crisis” bombarded the viewer with information questioning the overwhelming media coverage of the crisis. Through several meetings we discovered an interest in not only working with borders as a physical matter but also as a mental state and how the two may be undeniably connected. The Southbank Refugee Week exhibition shifted its focus towards the individual, aiming to give voice to more personal stories and perspectives. Taking advantage of our diverse and multinational backgrounds, our aim is to engage with different International communities. Simultaneously approaching sensitive topics through research, collaboration and knowledge of cause while&nbsp;promoting political and social changes.Our concept can be grasped throughout the whole creation process, from the start of the installation of the work until the development of conversations with the audience. My research currently focuses on how art can question universal problems such as warfare, corruption, climate change, or the psychology of human consciousness. Through individual, collaborative, and curatorial projects, my work explores both factual and speculative scenarios concerning the ecological and socio-political position of human and non-human beings in the past, present and future. I’m a multi-media artist with an interdisciplinary practice that often intertwines site-specificity with sculpture, painting, drawing, photography, digital image, installation, sound and performance. However, the emphasis within my work always remains on the concept and critical questioning of the subject rather than the medium itself. In 2018, I co-founded the non-profit community and ecology focused venture HOXTON 253 art project space with my partner Mirko Boffelli. While strategically building collaborations with established professionals and institutions we provide an experimental platform to emerging and mid-career artists.
